Job Description
An exciting and important role is opening up at Bridgeport Worldwide for an experienced and engaging Business Administration and Finance Management Professional.
Based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, under the general direction of the Managing Director and in collaboration with the management team, your role is to oversee the financial, legal, regulatory, and business processes for the overall company to ensure all aspects of daily operations are completed on time and in an efficient and productive manner to increase profits and reduce the waste of resources.

Bridgeport Worldwide is a small (~20 person) but happily growing company in the high-end North American design and construction sector. We import, market, help specify and sell high-performance building hardware from all over the world. We have customers from all segments in the design-build industry, some are long-established, others in the midst of serious transformation.

Bridgeport worldwide is going through a process of change and growth, and is transitioning to a scalable business model. We are looking for our Business/Finance Manager to work closely with the Managing Director and senior management team to oversee the company’s daily operations.
This is a new role driven by the growth of the business and is not yet fully defined, so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the Managing Director and other key stakeholders to determine the scope and full responsibilities of the role.
Your main areas of focus
Financial: Oversee the Finance Dept, prepare and oversee the administration of budgets, cash flow, account payments and financial planning in order to ensure the company meets its financial goals.

- Cyclical Financial Reports (weekly, monthly, yearly)
- Loans
Business Process: Oversee all administrative and legal aspects of the organization.

- Insurance
- Contracts
- Leases
Human Resources: Work with Chief of Staff and Operations Managers to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies across the entire company, including implementing risk management and safety guidelines.
- Update and oversee Policy and Procedures
- Develop department manuals
- Oversee annual review process and benefit support
- Hiring and training
What you need
- Master of Business Administration, Finance , and/or related fields
- 7+ years of experience driving and managing financial processes including forecasting, budget management, modeling efficiencies and fiscal year planning
- Experience in building effective business processes for diverse teams
- Experience in scaling a company’s financial processes to meet substantial growth
- Mastery of GAAP, Contract law, business systems and process, and Agile methodology.
- Strong analytical and financial skills in conjunction with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to describe complex issues clearly and effectively with all levels of employees and management including the ability to analyze, interpret, synthesize and effectively present complex information at key leadership meetings.
- Proficiency in the use of business applications software, and ability to learn and use Bridgeport Worldwide’s project management and financial applications.

What you do
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day business operations.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders on long range strategic planning and participate in the development and implementation of the organization’s objectives and goals.
- Advise leaders and stakeholders on financial, compliance and organizational matters.
- Serve as a focal point for financial communications to management and staff.
- Make authoritative budgetary recommendations.
- Act as liaison to other organizations and foster, maintain and utilize cross-organizational relationships to enact strategic initiatives.
- Assume responsibility for company activities in the absence of the Managing Director.
