Assistant Product Manager
Job Description
Bridgeport Worldwide is looking for a talented and motivated individual to work as Assistant Product Manager at our location in Bridgeport, CT.
This is a full time position and reports directly to the Product Manager.
The Assistant Product Manager’s overall job responsibility is to aid the flow of product information from manufacturers to Bridgeport Worldwide and its customers.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Organizing and analyzing product information from manufacturers
- Entering vendor product information and Bridgeport Worldwide branded product documents into our Digital Asset Management software (tech/spec sheets, catalogs, price lists, etc)
- Adding information into customer database and pricing to our ERP
- Data clean-up
- Developing product pricing
- Supporting the sales and customer service teams
- Communicating with manufacturers
- Inspecting and troubleshooting incoming and returned products
- Helping out in the warehouse when needed
Special projects - Bridgeport Worldwide doesn’t just move products. We aim to offer complete door solutions to our customers. As Assistant Product Manager, you will be involved in various special projects throughout the year. You will, at times, be cutting spindles, assembling and packaging products… Our Assistant Product Manager is bright, but must also be gifted with his/her hands and enjoy using them!
About Us
Bridgeport Worldwide is a happily growing firm (now with over twenty team members) in the high-end North American design and construction sector. We import, market, help specify and sell high-performance building hardware from around the world. We have customers from all segments in the design-build industry ranging from Architecture and Design firms to custom millwork shops, to contractors large and small.
About You
- You have a background in or strong affinities with engineering (industrial, mechanical, civil, etc) or construction and have an interest in building and product design.
- You are extremely detail oriented, a mechanically inclined critical thinker, you enjoy working with your hands and are willing to help out where needed.
- You are able to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate level of expertise with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or equivalent is required.
- The position will be significantly computer based, but also requires hands-on work with product in the workshop and warehouse. You should be comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets, in particular, but also mechanically inclined and enjoy working with your hands.
- A willingness to learn new things, follow and improve processes on a consistent, almost constant basis is a must.
- Experience in the door hardware industry is a plus.
- Experience with CAD and BIM modeling would be welcomed, but not required.
- Experience in statistics, numerical analysis, large data sets or programming is welcome.
